Thebencher.com is a Jerusalem-based company founded in 2008 by Caroline Shapiro-Weiss and Jennifer Klor.

The idea began when Caroline was searching for the perfect gift for her mother's 60th birthday. She realized that personalizing a Birkat Hamazon bencher with family photos and drawings would become the ultimate keepsake that would be used and loved for years to come. She teamed up with Jennifer Klor, an established graphic designer, who was able to take Caroline's vision and create an outstanding and gorgeous personal piece of Judaica that is used all the time. "I wanted a little bit of me and my children to be with my parents at their Shabbat table even though we live so far away… and now my family smiles every time we use their bencher with our photos and drawings at the end of our Shabbat meals."

To date, thebencher.com has created benchers for families in Israel, Australia, England, the United States, and Canada for celebrations ranging from weddings, sheva brachot, bar/bat mitzvahs, and family milestones such as anniversaries and birthdays.

Caroline Shapiro: I live with my family in Jerusalem. Since I made aliyah from Manchester, UK in 1995, I’ve been working in international public relations for leading Jerusalem institutions. I love seeing the benchers come alive and take on their own personalities. My part in the Bencher business is formulating together with you what kind of a bencher you’d like to create and to transfer that information to Jennifer so that she can work her magic with your material!

Jennifer Klor is a professional graphic designer with 12 years of experience and has designed websites, convention materials, book covers, brochures, newsletters, and letterhead. She will bring her considerable design expertise to each and every project and will create a beautiful one-of-a-kind piece of living Jewish art. She currently lives with her family in Jerusalem, having made aliyah from the United States in 2003.

All benchers are designed and printed in Israel.
